GINGER BEER STONE BOTTLE

GINGER BEER STONE BOTTLE
I was flicking through some of my unorganised postcards and noticed this picture of an old stone bottle - in this instance it had been used for ginger beer. That reminded me how we used to make ginger beer as kids - happy days!
As for what connection there is between the bottle and the mouse, I have no idea. The reverse of the postcard simply says Photograph by George McCarthy

  5. The plastic (looking) screw cap says it isn't very old. No more than say 75 years if that.

  6. Margaret Siemers Could well be 1940s. I do wonder though if the cap was added for the mouse to sit on.

  15. Remembering childhood things as we do here is what ultimately keeps us young at heart and makes life sweeter in the here and now.  The young at heart are happier, healthier, people.
