Didn't we all love the Sears wishbook when we were kids?

Didn't we all love the Sears wishbook when we were kids? I know I spent hours carefully considering what to ask Santa to bring, did you?

  2. They were perfect to identify desired Christmas gifts in! You got a solid ID, a price, and a location. You could even include a page number...

Unfortunately, regardless of the thoroughness of research, for the precise item desired, at least my parents would still get it wrong, somehow. LOL They had their hearts in the right place, but must have been dyslexic? ;-)

  3. I still get some people of a certain generation calling me for a catalog I loved the old Wish books

  4. Oshi Shikigami Did any of our parents get it right? lol, I don't know if it was the money they had or the money they saved but at least my parents would get things that were "look alikes" and easily discernible as "not as pictured" to us kids. Did they have knockoffs back then? I would think they did, even as far back as the stone age.

  6. Roma Arellano Humm, I hope it isn't for using in the outhouse like they once did with the Sears Catalogues. (oh, that doesn't sound nice toward your beautiful things, please don't take that the wrong way.)

  9. I still love looking through old catalogs, but we used to wait for the Christmas ones! I mostly wanted white boots with tassels that the pom pom girls wore, or a cowgirl outfit with a fringed vest. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

  10. Ann Kennedy Weren't those cowgirl outfits the best?! I hope you got to have one, I never did. In fact when I had stated once that I wanted one my slightly older brother piped up that I should "go out in the barn and stand next to one of the cows and say moo, you'll be a real cow girl then!" We were not amused. ; )

  11. INDIA STREET ANTIQUES / DANISH MODERN SAN DIEGO Now that I did get one Christmas. I loved it and it lent many happy ours playing "store" with mom's canned goods. Mine wasn't red however, it was the same metal color as the drawer in the picture. Now that I think about it, I wonder if it wasn't one of those "just as good as" items that Oshi Shikigami and I were talking about above? Doesn't matter, it was fun.
