  2. My one brother and I used to eat the potato so our mom wouldn't know we had it. If she bought us the game, she should have known it used potatoes, but my brother told me she would be mad we messed it up. Isn't it funny what kids think up Little John Metal Detecting

  4. Oh yes, we all loved these. In 1986 when we first moved to our current town, I was invited to a Welcome Wagon Potato Luncheon. For those that don’t know, WW was an organization designed to greet new people into a community. I had never heard of a potato luncheon but learned that everyone is asked to bring a raw potato to help the hostess defray the cost of the baked potatoes and toppings that would be the lunch. So, a friend and I thought it would be hilarious to use our kids’ old Mr and Mrs Potato Head parts to dress up our contributions. So we put them in a paper bag and gave them to the hostess who opened the bag to get the potatoes and put them in a large bowl with the others. I will never forget the look on her face, her complete lack of humor and the feelings my friend and I had. That was our last encounter with the Welcome Wagon. We probably should have used Cootie parts. Thanks for the memories and I still love plastic toys.
