Toy tram "Made in Liège"

Toy tram "Made in Liège"
In 1942, the company Gils, manufacturing mainly domestic appliances, decided to make toys to compensate the shortage of such items during the war (I'm not sure that toys were the first priority of the moment !).
Anyway, here is one survivor preserved now in the Transport Museum of Liège.
The sole distributor was the "Grand Bazar" (see advert on the model). The "Grand Bazar" was a very large department store that compares well in size with "Harrods" in London.

  1. That looks to be in excellent condition! I think transport museums are wonderful places, usually the only way to see vehicles from many eras in the same place.
