This is quite interesting John T. Thank you for sharing a bit of history from outside of the USA. They don't say if it had offloaded its cargo or not when it sank. I bet if it wasn't removed the water near it became quite "sweet" to boat in. : )

Margaret Siemers yes I wondered that too. Maybe helped the whisky distilleries on the western Isles
