Not sure whether the history is 100% accurate. We may have the wrong building and it may not be a dinosaur egg, either! The comments on the original post [click "originally shared by..."] tell the tale. (Sorry, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to reproduce them here.)

  1. I always enjoy searching state patent applications and see that Willard Masten had several, including one for a perfume known as Florida Water if I read it correctly, also fabric dyes😊

  2. Not a problem on the posting Jeff Diver, the cards and info you give are always worth a few extra clicks to read about.
I love the colors on this one, it's a good reflection of how "rich" the dye color must have been. Well, at least that's what the seller was trying to convey, I think. Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. Wikipedia says:

"According to current trademark holders, Lanman & Kemp Barclay,[2] Florida Water was introduced by the New York City perfumer (and founder of the original company) Robert I. Murray, in 1808...."

  5. Here's the back of the card (click image to enlarge). It says "for sale by all druggists," but we may have discovered the location of this particular druggist, Willard E. Masten's store.... See [ http://bit.ly/MastensDrugStoreAlbanyNY ] for more.
