Yes, this is a great piece with a lot of interesting perspective and collective memory. I've always felt that the demise of print publications such as Time had a lot to do with the need for increasing advertising space, in addition to the obvious reasons. About the only magazine I know of now that covers the news in an in depth way would be the Economist, which is like what Time used to be.
