Who doesn't love the Dr.

Who doesn't love the Dr.? I know I do! Cybermen, The TARDIS, Daleks and Weeping Angels! I have been a fan for years and I thought some of you may like this blog from member Mullard Antiques. In it she talks about the Iconic toys the show has spawned even over here in the USA.

  2. Oshi Shikigami I had a feeling you would like the show. Who was your favorite Dr.? (and don't tell me "Exactly") lol

  3. David Tennant the Tenth Doctor. In general the later ones over the beginning ones. But not a huge preference.

  4. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing Margaret Siemers. I knew you liked Doctor Who, and the last sentence in the blog was in homage to your shop tag line :-)
Oshi Shikigami, I like David Tennant too!

  5. Mullard Antiques and Collectibles Your welcome, and I return the thanks for your own kindness to me. : )
The only Dr. I didn't like was the one that has been referred to as "Miss Piggy", however I can't think of his proper name and when searching on Google all I get in results is stories about the Muppets. lol

  6. Oshi Shikigami The early Dr.'s had a different quality I agree, but still made the show enjoyable. I referr you to my reply above this one for whom I didn't care to watch. I bet you can tell me who "Miss Piggy" was in the Doctor lineup. ; ) As assistants go, I really liked Rose.

  7. Margaret Siemers, I believe you are referring to this Dr. Who adventure? ;-)

There were a few others, that inexplicably had severed pig heads in them, but was not pivotable in the plot... They must of been porking fun at something or another. Just hamming it up a bit? LOL

  8. Oshi Shikigami Good one, but nope. I found him, it was Colin Baker, the 6th Dr. (1984-1986).
I believe it was Jon Pertwee the 3rd Dr. (1970-1974) that referred to Colin Baker as "Miss Piggy". The name for him just stuck with me I guess. (Not to be confused with another Baker, Tom. The 9Ft. scarf waring 4th Dr. (1974-1981)

  9. Margaret Siemers and Oshi Shikigami You do know a lot about Dr Who! I didn't know that Colin Baker was referred to as 'Miss Piggy by Jon Pertwee. LOL!

  10. Mullard Antiques and Collectibles Yep, Colin Baker had chided his predecessor Dr. Jon Pertwee when asked in an interview why his Dr. looked a bit like a clown with so many colors and patterns in his coat. To which Baker replied (and I am paraphrasing because that was a long time ago) something to the effect of 'At least I'm not poncing around in Crushed Velvet'. To which Pertwee replied, when asked about bakers statement, something to the effect of 'I didn't know Miss Piggy gave fashion critique'. The rivalry continued until Pertwee's death in 96.
Peter Davison and especially Sylvester McCoy have had fun referring to Baker as Miss Piggy after that.
