This is a card that I have always seen my father's collection. It dates back to the 1950's. It is obviously a "Happy New Year" card.
I have always wondered why a person would send to someone a pig as a new year's card. The answer came later. In the Germanic countries such as Germany and Austria, the pig is considered as a "good luck charm". There is even a German town which has a tramway in the form of a pig...
