We were lucky enough to come across a collection of papers, prints, magazine cut outs, newspaper clippings and more. This was someone's life long hobby and wow.....there are some very cool items!

This is from a 1930's edition of The International Graphic Magazine. It was written in both English and Japanese. Unfortunately, we can't find any information about this magazine. On this page, the print lifts up to reveal information about the painting in both English and Japanese. The name of the painting is "Dance of the bath girl" by an unknown painter. We believe this was a special addition to the magazine as the paper is different. The original is a large 4 screen painting.

It measures about 38 x 24 cm. It is in very good condition considering its age!

  1. This is a very interesting piece and I'm very curious about the magazine. Do you have the magazine or how is the magazine identified on the piece?

  2. Ann Kennedy here is a link that may help. http://etsy.me/2clGtIa We don't usually let links to items be posted, but seeing as Vintage From Japan+ On Etsy may not know if it is ok to answer you I am sharing it for her. Once there you can, I am sure, ask through her shop. Wonderful shop, they have other prints like this that are simply marvelous.
