A colorized black & white photo using the Photochrom process - which was invented in 1888 and is sort of like lithography.

  1. This process is much closer to today's lithographic color (think magazines and catalogs), than a "color film image." The colors were 'painted' by hand, into different layers, of lithographic stones.


    At the turn of the 19-20 centuries, they were very popular for Post cards.
