While taking photo's of this cute little tape measure from Sucaryl, the sweetener that either could or will kill you, I started thinking about all the ways Ad Men had played upon womens vanity over the decades. Here's a sample of what I found in advertising. I never knew Soap, Cigarettes, and Sugar were diet aids.

  1. This reminds me, of when my older brothers went to Europe, in the '60s. They wanted to bring back souvenirs for our parents.

    There, all clothes, were all labeled in metric standard sizes. So, they had NO IDEA what size to get. But the found a gal in their group of travellers, who was approximately the size of mom, to model them.

    My mom (a little smaller than I), was quite pleased with the dress, they got for her. That is, until she read the tag, that plainly said, "Size: 40!" She got teased about that for a very long time, with my brothers telling people, "They got mom a size 40 dress that fit!" LOL Boys will be boys...
