First one I had was a 1" reel to reel B&W with 12" (1 hr.) reels It was "transportable" if you had two strong people to carry it. The tube camera was bigger and heaver than the setup, above. :-)
It seems very antiquated now but was obviously the height of technology in it's day. Amazing to think that most, if not all modern DSLR, CSC & compact cameras are all capable of decent quality video recording now. I've never even tried video recording on my camera!
