PAINTED ADVERTS

PAINTED ADVERTS
Here is another one (or should I say two for the price of one).
It is not an artistic masterpiece, but it has some historical value.

A simple inscription was first painted in plain white letters. You have to be either clever or Belgian to guess what is written : "Banque de la Société Générale de Belgique".
Later on, when the first logo of the company appeared, it was was added on top of it all. It is a stylized "G" for "Générale".
Photo taken in the center of Spa two days ago.
On the left can be seen the tower of the main church in the city.

Comments

  1. Laurent Truillet I don't speak Belgian, but I am cleaver. Do you think there was a good return on this advertisement for the "Générale"?

To me, this advert is a waste of money. Everybody knows this bank, but its name still has to appear everywhere !
