While Amtrak still runs the Chief it is a shadow of what it used to be. Unfortunately romance of rails was not loved after air travel made it possible in 1 day to go from East coast to West coast in hours not days..Also notice the etiquette of travel back then..And yes 90% or more of passengers were white andit seemed the whole world smoked at that time as most in that segregated ugly time in America were on busses..The blacks were allowed to work the trains as Pullman Porters and cooks etc. But another classic time machine travel back to a simpler time in the world and one of my favorite trains..The Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Super Chief also this follows all the way to California The Transcon.

Not a disappointment to watch! Loved the entire thing. Here's a shout out to Laurent Truillet and Mike Martin who I know love trains as much as you do Trucker Kev The Paid Tourist. It was surly a time when travel was done in style.

Oshi Shikigami Yep..People dressed to travel not like walking out of a backyard or from under a viaduct..Just like on a car trip suitcases were used not toss your crap in the back in pile.
