Tom Brydon when I saw your post with "The Avengers", I immediately thought of the newly departed Roger Moore as Simon Templar in The Saint, a show that ran pretty much concurrently. I liked them both.

  1. I liked him better in the Saint, for some reason, better than anything else he did after.

  2. Sean Connery will always be "my Bond" but, of all the others, Roger Moore was the best. I felt he knew Sean had made the part his own so Roger injected humour to the role and never took it too seriously.
I remember him in "The Saint" and the lovely sports car he drove in that series; I believe it was a Volvo. My favourite TV series which he was in was "The Persuaders" where he was partnered with Tony Curtis. A wonderful mix of New York and upper class England. The signature tune was by John Barry, a great piece of music.

  4. Steve Hart You missed a really good TV series about the exploits of Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis), a brash New Yorker and Lord Brett Sinclere (Roger Moore) ex Guardsman and stereotypical English gentleman putting wrongs right and having a lot of fun into the bargain.

  5. David Bennett I may try to watch The Persuaders. I found a lot of episodes on youtube but the first episode is blocked for copyright reasons.
