The Mars Express - 1934 teardrop rocket car created by Peter Vacca of Buffalo, New York. Used as a promotional vehicle it boasted a gasoline powered supercharged Ford V-8 engine. Vacca had hoped to bring the added rocket engines into play to boost the speed to 115 mph. Instead, Mars Express remained a touring curiosity - from 1939-1942 it toured with the Russell Brothers Circus. Its ultimate fate is unknown.
That's really something! Wouldn't it have been fun to have a ride? Love its name and think of the photos we're now getting from Mars:-)
