  1. Wonderful images and interesting history! The Fat Tuesday celebrated here is sometimes called "Shrove Tuesday" and pancakes are traditionally eaten in order to use up the food before people fast for the season of Lent. Of course, there is also the famous Mardi Gras with lots of fun, costumes, parades, etc. which most of us think about as being related to Fat Tuesday! I enjoy your posts of your national and cultural history.
