Just back from the barber's shop. This is me after my first hair cut at the barber's. Before this I had very curly hair, my mother cried when dad brought me back after a "short back & sides" finished off with Brylcream!
Judging by dad's clothes he must have just come home from sea.
All of us mom's cry after the first haircut. Our babies aren't babies anylonger. This is so sweet to see. Thank you David Bennett Love your posts.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is really wonderful, David. You dad looks quite proud, as he should be, in spite of having had your curls cut off! I like his classic fisherman's sweater and you look as if you survived the ordeal!
ReplyDeleteAnn Kennedy I can vaguely remember going to the barbers with my dad, but not this first occasion. The barber's chair was far too big for us little lads so he had a length of floorboard to place across the arms of the chair which we sat on. This raised us up so he didn't need to bend. 😀
