  1. No pressurization I see, low altitude flight I assume? The guys up top are "Cranking" the motors by hand! Looks dangerous and not a job I would want. Way cool Tom Brydon Had never seen one of these and it must have been something to ride in.

  2. The Dornier Do X was the largest, heaviest, and most powerful flying boat in the world when it was produced by the Dornier company of Germany in 1929. Wikipedia.
    They go on to say it had 12 engines and was the largest heaviest flying boat ever built. Way cool Tom Brydon way cool.

  3. A flight would be fairly leisurely: no higher than 10,000 feet and no faster than 100 mph.

  4. I would think the much later, "Spruce Goose" to be a bit bigger. However it was not specifically a passenger ship, or ever flew over twenty feet above the water. ;-)
