This actually has some very funny moments in it, and it shows that our Grandparents were people, just like us.

It is quite refreshing to see them happy. Because like you said they always seem so unhappy and Stern. But it was a really good video I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing that.
ReplyDeleteEvelon Burley I know I went through it with the pause ready to stop them so I could get a better look, it goes too fast for me. lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it.
These are delightful. I guess Tzar Nicholas was a fun guy after all.
ReplyDeleteAnn Kennedy You just don't expect the Tazr to be caught on film doing goofball things do you. Really changes the perspective of the stiff old relatives in the photo's we have.
ReplyDeleteL.O.L ;-) Margaret Siemers Thanks for the share. Both funny and informative!
ReplyDeleteMullard Antiques and Collectibles Very happy you liked it. I found it quite by accident on Youtube when looking up something else. That's the fun of this business, you never know what you will find. : )
ReplyDeleteThe people in those days were stuck in a society where Stoicism was the style, the way they pose, stern face, contraposto pose one leg bent one leg straight, it was a sign of the times. Drunken frivolties I am sure went on but behind closed doors! Privately, and I have heard tales of favorite aunts that made faces while everyone had their heads bowed and saying grace at the dinner table and other silly things but I never got to see a photo of one! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery much so! Truer than not. One moment a stick up your ass, and the next letting your hair down. Such a rollicoaster ride back then!
ReplyDeleteLady Sandra Back then people lived by the strict codes that society placed upon them, but still they were people. And just like today they had the good, bad and hysterically funny. It is simply too easy for us to forget this because all we see are "snapshots" of the life they had in old photo's. I am glad you enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteOshi Shikigami I liked the photo of Queen Victoria smiling out in public in her open carriage. The original stuff shirt and author of the era was actually smiling in public! I wonder how much different folks would have been if she was a tad more laid back? ; )
ReplyDeleteWonder indeed. She was tragically lost without Albert of course. But One can imagine she had "good days" as well? ;-)
