It's a Bowman live spirit fired train circa 1932 (in production from 1927 to 1936). It's in heavily played with condition. It now sits in my study. If anyone has a tender to fit this engine please let me know.

Wow Darran! That is wonderful! You might post these pictures on the Railroad Photography page where there is a model train section.
ReplyDeleteAnn Kennedy thanks Ann will take a look.
ReplyDeleteLaurent Truillet many thanks for the information. I haven't lit the burners under the engine and probably never will, I intend just to enjoy the engine as she is, a relic from a bygone era. I intend to track down a tender and display them as a pair. At first it was my intention to restore the engine to pristine condition, but I have decided to let her be and remain as I found her.
ReplyDeleteDarran Hughes Being an old toys collector myself, I agree that you should not attempt to restore it to mint condition. You'll never get the lining on the boiler right. Seeing your photo, I would say that he model is in a "reasonably good condition". No bumps, no distorted parts and you're lucky you haven't even got the mazak disease !
ReplyDeleteHave fun with it !
