MY FIRST CAMERA Following on from Laurent TRUILLET's post this was my very first camera. Pretty basic, but it took some okay photos - well I thought so at the time! #camera #photography
Ann Kennedy I could make quite a drama of adjusting the camera back then. My wife says I still do, and by the time I take the photo the subject has gone.
There is no shame, no stigma to using adjustable cameras on "Automatic", as long as you know when it is better to do something contrary. Fortunately, auto cameras are so good, at guessing what you really want, that is seldom indeed.
Even I leave my cameras set on automatic, and change from that seldom, without a specific look being required. The less I have to "figure out" before a shot, the more I can concentrate on the right moment to catch the shot. :-)
Oshi Shikigami Yes, the automatic settings are very good. I can remember - a while back - trying to photograph some dolphins, but all I ended up with was photos of where the dolphins once were!
That's a terrific treasure. Love that lens adjuster.
ReplyDeleteMaria Richardson -WagTail Adventures - they were fashionable at the time :-)

ReplyDelete34 mm and roll film? Interesting camera. I have seen one that had both before, but they were very, very expensive cameras.
ReplyDeleteOshi Shikigami It was only for roll films 120 or 620. When my parents bought me this. it wouldn't have cost too much money.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading the front plate of the camera. Likely it was capable, but you had to purchase an adapter to do so?
ReplyDeleteMelvin Cownzowfski I agree, I've now learnt to keep my camera on 'automatic' most of the time - makes life so much easier.
