What Was Your First Camera?
This green Imperial Mark XII complete with Flash was my first camera that was all mine. I won this beauty at the local County Fair playing the Ring Toss Game when I was about 10 years old. And yes, I still own this fabulous camera.

I received many 'hand me down' cameras when I was little. But the first camera specifically new as my own was a Nikkorex F, 35 mm interchangeable lens, single lens reflex, by Nikon. And thus was born an over fifty year love affair with Nikons! :-)
ReplyDeleteOshi Shikigami my first 35mm that was all mine was a Yashica Lynx 14, which was a 35mm rangefinder with a 45mm f1.4 fixed lens. My brother bought it for me in Vietnam at the PX in Saigon. My first SLR was a Minolta SRT 101.
ReplyDeleteoh what a beauty i love it!
ReplyDeletePS i don't have anything from my former life. I lost it all, right down to the outfit i was wearing and a small satchel with a few important papers. Stuff accumulates though!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jazzy Lemon we have way too much stuff, but I am glad I kept this.
ReplyDeleteme too, it's gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful post. Winning the prize at the fair was not an easy task, especially back before they had gaming laws for the traveling games. So that makes this even more wonderful for you. Thank you for the smile.
ReplyDeleteMargaret Siemers thanks for the kind comments.
ReplyDeleteThey have gaming laws now? aw, how is anyone supposed to make a living? - by the way i spent my teenage years travelling and working in the fair with the carnies. :)
ReplyDeleteJazzy Lemon Now that must have been an adventure!
