Very much appreciated, Matthew Woodall. I consider myself a Southern boy, but Sherman's memoirs are one of the finest bits of American history around. He lived quite a life and he wrote without ego or self praise.
Opelika is where I grew up Mike, and then in Auburn mostly as an adult. But yeah, I'm glad you like this Mike. I should know all of the history on the Civil War, but not like I want it to be. Someday I'm going to study it again, because it helps to keep things in their proper perspective.
