I was looking for an instrument that looked somewhat like a violin and saw this guy, labeled 'Apache Fiddler'.


I was looking for an instrument that looked somewhat like a violin and saw this guy, labeled 'Apache Fiddler'. It says this of him, .."Chasi, a Warm Springs Apache musician playing the Apache fiddle, 1886. photo by A. Frank Randall". Couldn't find a bigger photo of him, so the resolution is not that great. Anyways, I never knew anything about Indians playing a fiddle, or an Apache fiddle. :-)
