"AROUND FOOD. Of course DWIN may be used around food without fear of tainting or spoiling. This feature is of particular value to the housewife, caterer and food shops."

I wonder if Baldwin Laboratories, Inc. is still around today...

  1. I bet "dollars to donuts", they are long gone! Gone the way of the songbird (egg). Probably regulated to death, with never a chance.

  2. I remember a dust insecticide called "Flit" from when I was a kid. The ad line was "Quick Henry the Flit" as though Flit was Quick Henry's job title.

  4. I did a quick search and could not find the company. Most likely all the top executives died early from having the conference room sprayed, the catering service they used most likely sprayed the food they ate before bringing it into the conference room, and the Print Shop that did the reports they read used it and it got on the reports. (snicker, sorry)

  6. Oshi Shikigami True. Although, would the legs and arms have curled up like dead bugs do? Is that inherent to pesticides or a bug thing?

  7. Best to ask a zoologist. I fare inadequate in such maters. But to guess, without evidence, I would say so. indeed.  ;-)

  8. Wow! That is a heavy dose of chemicals to add to the garden and the dinner table. In this add it is obvious, but it is amazing how much our lives continue to be inundated with chemicals in our food and daily lives in more covert ways. As is especially apparent to the increasing population of those with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. We are now reaping the consequences of a culture, shown here, that has been too trusting in the lack of knowledge about long term health effects of large doses of chemicals in our daily lives.

  9. That Great Shop Oshi Shikigami and I jest at the senseless use of the pesticides because it is one way we deal with so much stupidity in the world.
Your right to feel like we have been used in a get rich quick scheme as  we all just about have. The big businesses are never about the little guy no matter what they tell us.
The best way to defend ourselves is to not buy into the hype. And it is all hype, believe me.
Enough voices will enact a change. Keep talking and keep believing.

  10. The miracle, it is not that we ingest and live. It is that we ingest, and we thrive!
