Unfortunately such beautiful buildings are still being demolished nowadays... Sometimes, they are quickly demolished by the owner of the land when a preservation movement starts to be interested to save them !
For those that may wonder, it housed the huge furnaces that boiled the water and made steam to power the gigantic steam turbines that generated electricity.
That's a beauty - and with a terrace of houses opposite.
