From a 1940 Hundson Eight ad in LIFE Magazine: "John Cobb, noted British Sportsman, drove the Hudson Eight to a new flying mile record of 93.88 miles per hour... fastest mile ever traveled by a stock car of it's class. Cobb praised its performance, easy riding and steering... called it "an exceptional car in every way."
