Modern IBM Selectrics! Complete with font balls and probably had the white out tape, too. I learned on old Royal manuals which, well, to be polite, got the job done.
It has been so long ago that I was in one of the classes but I recalled that I could only get up to fifty words per minute by the time the semester ended. Since I didn't use it for almost twenty years, I lost the ability to type until getting my keyboard.
