This is not restored, since the originals are autographed by the man himself.

Birdman (not the movie) from Paris, a century ago.
This is not about the movie, but a little known historical fact of the birdman (or bird charmer) from Paris.
This French pensioner was a must see from (American) tourists in the 1910s. His obituary even made it to the New York Times in 1918.
What's very special about these 3 postcards: they are actually autographed by the man, Henri Pol, himself with a pencil.

ReplyDeleteGreat to see the postcard photos and newspaper clipping together.
ReplyDeletekristien marie thank you! BTW: the first part of your name is how we write Christine here in Flanders. First time I've seen it written like that outside of Flanders. ☺
ReplyDeleteMike Perry I always kept them together, from since I have those cards. Adds some spice and interesting background info to it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLuc Ansoms my father was born in Groningen (Thiessen)
ReplyDeletekristien marie I thought so, who else would write the name like that. ☺
