THE ODD VOLUME - 1912

THE ODD VOLUME - 1912
The publication was a bit bashed about when I bought this (no, that wasn't in 1912!) but it has some nice illustrations and adverts inside. The cover picture says something of the time though, the caption is A Lot For The Money - the young boy is for sale. Only a picture, but what an awful thought.
Terrible thought, but it's a well-executed illustration.
ReplyDeleteShort stories and such? Or what's the content? Looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteMike Martin Agreed about the illustration.
ReplyDeleteAnn Kennedy Short stories, a couple of cartoons, articles and, of course, adverts.
ReplyDeleteHorrifying! Those who have read my blog may know a bit about my having been trafficked as a child. This image is close to home. I wish I could say that such things are history only, but they're not.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte Issyvoo Horrific is the word. There have been some dreadful cases in the UK recently.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know. There was one that very very similar to my own life, except that she was rescued. I try to follow these cases. Eventually, I want to gather them together on my blog so people can stop claiming they're isolated incidents.
