Laurent TRUILLET I am just an historician, I just register stuff, I can tell you that this was published in Texas originally. Personally I would give both cows away, because I wouldn't know what to do with them.
Luc Ansoms Never mind, Luc... I was just alluding to a well-known social song by Pete Seeger "Which Side Are You On", which I thought would fit this question. I realize that my sense of humor can be a bit thick sometimes... Sorry ! LT
Luc Ansoms Laurent TRUILLET If I had to guess, I would think this was from around the depression era. Simply because the "New Dealism" that is quoted here. (we would not include Harry's idea in something like this after 1945-1949) ; )
Margaret Siemers Indeed, I've dated it solely based on the postcard it was on, which was glossy, meaning it had t printed (at the earliest late 1950s). Naturally the drawing was probably made as a politcal cartoon around the Depressionn as you so rightfully state. I was going to have it put up for sale later today, after a little restoration. I'll include the time era as being around 1930. Shall I give you credit for it? :-)
Luc Ansoms One think strikes me : the way it speaks about Nazism. If we consider that the Nazis really started around 1933, I think that people wouldn't have started any irony about it from the beguining. Talking so lightly about the Nazis makes me think that the threat was over. I have the personal feeling that this card was after WW2.
Laurent TRUILLET This will teach me not to answer things when I'm at supper, I forgot the Nazis. :-) That's why I probably dated it 1950s in the first place. We'll make it late 1940s. Thanks, Laurent!
Laurent TRUILLET No but you're right, and I probably thought the same way when I dated it. But with that New Dealism, I was in a hurry and had tunnel vision, so I forgot about the Krauts. :-)
And I need to read all of the posts BEFORE I answer. I agree with Laurent TRUILLET and your first assumption on the age Luc Ansoms. Like you I should not try to think on things while I am doing other chores. Well at least I am starting to get to an age where I can say "Must of been a Senior Moment" because it practically is. ; )
Which side are you on ?

Luc Ansoms You're welcome. This was pure personal intuition, no historical proof...

Luc Ansoms do as you may, I am not so particular as to insist on this. However I do appreciate it if you do. ; )
