Camping 1940s style.

Camping 1940s style. A typical car-camping setup. The "Teardrop" style trailer or caravan which was so incredibly popular in the 1930s and 1940s is making a big comeback today. See the contemporary interpretations of this camping classic at http://bit.ly/18XbVXU.

I'll take the set!
ReplyDeleteMe too Mike Srok
ReplyDeleteThere are some companies reviving these small trailers now but the prices seem too high.
ReplyDeleteSteve Hart See the link I include in the post. Yes, there are several companies reviving the teardrop camper concept. And the variations are wild! And expensive. The teardrop was the common man's camper.
ReplyDeleteOops, I must not have read your text the first time around. Just call me Mr. Redundant
ReplyDeleteLiving in a holiday area, I've seen several similar in style in the UK.
ReplyDeleteBulleit Bourbon had two trailers made as a promotion, though were for sale through Neiman Marcus for $150,000 each.

+Mike Martin, We have a Steeplechase near here called Point-to-Point where the tailgating is over-the-top. Your Neiman Marcus trailers would fit right in http://goo.gl/1qBL0W
ReplyDeleteI'd like both of these and a place to store them. And someone to maintain them.
ReplyDeleteAnn Kennedy I think if you have enough to buy them in the first place, a place to store them and someone to maintain would be no problem.
ReplyDeleteThe trailers are cute however. They are taking off (I believe) because folks are downsizing to small living spaces like never before. Have you noted the small space living posts on the internet?
Margaret Siemers Yes, it seems as if Houzz features small quarters every few weeks. I find them very intriguing, as is the notion of living without "stuff". That said, I love my stuff and I like a reasonable amount of space and detest huge living spaces. Have you read Marie Kondo's book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up?
ReplyDeleteNo, but it sounds like I need to read it Ann Kennedy lol. I can always use some "Life Changing Magic". I am going to check to see if Amazon has that. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMargaret Siemers How about I just send you mine? I'm done with it and would love for you to have it. Message me an address:-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a kind offer, Will send my address soon.
