I remember my mom all dressed up in a beautiful black velvet dress with a black cape draped around her shoulder, lined with red satin, picking me up to kiss me goodbye before she attended a City of Hope supper, and me exclaiming "OOOOOH! Skunk Oil!!!!" To which she exclaimed back "That's Chanel No. 5 !", and laughed so hard and hysterically about it. I was probably about 4 or 5 years old, at the time, and she would always recall that moment with glee in the years to come.
Madges Hatbox you are absolutely correct on this. John Campbell not only do we love to hear what people remember of things past, we doubly love to hear happy childhood stories. This is quite precious.
John Campbell That's a very sweet story! There was truly something magical about parents dressing up in evening clothes. I can recall the scent of My Sin as if it were right here.
