Below is some of the original text from the first time I posted this. It was back in April of 2014. Trying to entice you folks to post childhood photo's. All little kids were cute, so do share with us.

Taken in the kitchen of the very old Farmhouse I grew up in. Yep, that's almost 4 year old Margaret (June Birthday) and my older brother. The house was built in 1711, and is still standing today.
Mom and Dad were getting ready to redo the kitchen and wanted before and after shots, threw us in this one for good measure I guess.

  1. Your brother seemed very protective, and very proud too...
Photos were expensive and rare in those days, that's why they are now so precious !
Where was I when this photo was taken ?
    See my other post...

  3. It was taken on the Farm I grew up in. Near Admire, Pennsylvania. Which is still just a little crossroads surrounded by farms. The mailing address was Thomasville, Pennsylvania which was near Cross Keys and York, but not so close to us. We had a Rural Route #1  Postal designation.

  4. I'll get my dollies and tea set and be right over! Can we go in the rafters, too?

  5. Ann Kennedy Oh Yes, that's where the trunk with my dress-up hats and shoes and beads and gloves are. We can be Playmates!

We can look down my rain barrel,
    slide down my cellar door,
and we can be jolly friends,
    forevermore.

  6. Ann Kennedy And in the spring, we can go exploring in the barn and find where the mama cats have had the kittens. If you find them at just the right time, before they are too old, but the eyes are open and they are able to walk, you can hold them and pet them and they will always be friendly. However if they get to be too old they will scratch and never be happy to see us.

  7. Margaret Siemers Incredible ! All the kids in the world are the same !
At that age, I also used to dig under the hay in my grandparents farm (see other posts about my native place) to find the kittens. We also used to jump around in the hay, but my grandparents did not like it because they said we were "flattening" the hay and making it "compact". Anyway, whatever they said, it never stopped us !
Those were the days before the tablets and the i-pods !

  8. Laurent TRUILLET There is nothing like a farm for creating wonderful childhood (or adult) for that matter, memories.
