THE KEYS TO MY CASTLE ...

THE KEYS TO MY CASTLE ...
... or maybe from the old local jail. I bought these set of keys - as seen in the picture - about 10 years ago from a farmer at a car boot sale. He was clearing out a barn and selling the saleable bits he found. They cost me 50 pence!  A bargain. I don't know where they originated but they are old - though the key on the right looks newer in style. They now 'live' on  my hearth at home.

  1. karen falk brown I've often thought about that. They must have hung on a hook somewhere, who knows where. Another place, another time.

  2. What a fabulous treasure!  They are beautiful and I'm sure they spent a lifetime opening very good stories.

  3. Mike Perry - "Jail?" I thought you were a Brit. It's OK, you can say "Gaol." ;-)

  4. Mike Martin Or even prison ... :-) Locally there is an old prison / gaol known as Bodmin Jail. It's now a tourist attraction.
