STEAM PACKET "CHANCELLOR LIVINGSTON" 1817
I came across this old print recently. It states: "Built from plans drawn by Fulton for a corporation that held a monopoly of the waters of New York state for the use of steam propelled vessels."
The man this ship was named after was quite something. You can find out more by going here:

It tells us, in part, he was on of the five original drafters of the Declaration of Independence but was not present when it was signed, and he administered the Oath of Office to George Washington. A fascinating man

Funny how it took an old print, found a world away, to tell me something about my own countries history that I did not know.
