The headlight covers are indeed blackout covers. The original caption for the picture was Post war fashion. note the mercedes sign in the shop and the British flags above it. Picture is probably just after the war had ended.

ReplyDeleteIt must be only very soon after the war. 1947 brought a radical change to fashion that would have rendered this outfit "out."
