I bet you didn't know that Buster Keaton made a silent movie in the 60s. I've actually never seen it but I've seen the wonderful documentary about him and the film. If you've not yet discovered Canada's NFB (National Film Board), here's one of many treats it made and still makes:

I bet the entire Documentary was excellent. Looks like he was reminiscing for us. (no Closed Captioning) I am sure everyone will enjoy this. Buster was quit a good man from what I understand about him.
ReplyDeleteWas there no sound? Are you hearing impaired? I'm all confused.
ReplyDeleteHe seems in this documentary to be a complicated man.
ReplyDeleteYes Charlotte, I am deaf.
ReplyDeleteI did not know this. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteMargaret Siemers, I didn't know that. Too bad there are no subtitles then. There might be a version out there that has them. NFB seems like the kind of place that would want to make that available.
ReplyDeleteNote though, and I'll get in trouble for saying this, but you're not missing much in not being able to hear Cohen singing. He's a poet, not a singer, really. He knows it too. He won male vocalist of the year in Canada a while back and, in his acceptance speech said, "Only in Canada could I win this award."
