The FSA collection at the LOC is public domain and provides a great journey through the work of the famous and not so famous FSA photographers.  You get to see the many shots which were never considered good enough to print or use.

The FSA admittedly had a "story to tell" about the state of America during the Depression and they fit their work to that story.  You can see that mission change as World War II starts and their work becomes much more uplifting and patriotic.
