I have this one in my collection also. The movie dialogue was actually groundbreaking. Up until this time when an actor spoke, no one else would speak until they were finished talking, then the next line would be spoken by the next actor. The Director, Christian Nyby decided that this slowed the movie down way too much, and that he wanted the realism and excitement of panic and action. It actually changed the way movies were made from that time forward.
Carlos Santos True, but back then it was something we had never seen before, and in this one in particular the monster was scarry. The monster, by the way, was James Arness, who later became the star of the long running TV series "Gunsmoke".
Way cool box art. Thanks. I loved the old one, scared me as a kid. The new one did not take me there, but it was good.

I liked this one Much Better than the remake. Yeah, by todays standard pretty lame and tame. But back then? Wow!
