Like Margaret's theme post, this shows children playing wearing gas masks, in 1941. It really saddens me to see that life had come down to this because of mankind's quest for power and authority,..or I should say, one man's quest for power and authority.
Creepy! I remember doing the "duck and cover" drills in grade school in the mid-60's...all that cold war hysteria/paranoia~
