Hey Vintage Lifers that resell art , what are some good suggestions for online venues to sell. I need to raise some money for medical, and other matters, and I'm so tired of ebay. does Etsy really do well with the kind of artwork that I post? I've looked at Ruby Lane, but do they get the traffic? I'm also considering crowdfunding sites, and even building one myself for persons involved with the creative arts. Any good suggestions. Also , if you use wordpress to build your stores, what wordpress selling platform , or plugins are you using for your stores? I know how to build wordpress sites. But I don't want to waste time on programs that aren't that good, or too difficult to work with. Lots of questions, but I know that some of you have expereince in what I'm trying to get information about. what i'm
We really like the templates and ecimmerce options at Wix.com.
ReplyDeleteLinkedIn would also be a good place to ask that question.
Also we really like what we see Ruby Lane is doing. We also really have had good experiences with Zatista.
ReplyDeleteWix and Zatista are new to me. I've checked wix out. Lots of themes. I like the presentation at Ruby Lane, and the focus on antiques and fine art. I 'll check Zatista out . Thanks again. Keep the recs coming.
ReplyDeleteJohn, sending you some ideas to pick through privately. I think it would be too much for this site to post here. Hope you don't mind. : )

That's fine. Thank you Margaret
ReplyDeleteAs a marketer and web designer I've always steered my clients to the sites with the biggest audience... Ebay, Amazon, Cragslist and Etsy. Here's some info on how to sell as an individual on Amazon http://goo.gl/ZiuVJH but I'm guessing Margaret Siemers list was more helpful.
ReplyDeleteIf I was opening my own store, I'd have a personal website and list everything at amazon as well. If I just wanted sell a couple things, I'd use craigslist. Furniture has moved quickly for me on craigslist.
I've sold on each of those sites, except Etsy. Books, mostly, on Amazon, since I once had over 2000 first editions, of various subject matters, and genre. Paintings, limited edition art, and applied arts on Ebay, And some prints and garage sale type stuff on Craigslist. So much material stuff. So little time....
