The Red Skelton Show,..I thought that he was the funniest man ever, when I was 6 to 8 years old.
The Red Skelton Show,..I thought that he was the funniest man ever, when I was 6 to 8 years old. He would always stick his hand in his pocket and push a button that would make his bowtie spin around..lol. :-) The way he talked and the jokes he told were hilarious. And I loved it, that he laughed at his own jokes.. :-)))
He made me laugh as well. He was something special.
ReplyDeleteI miss the old comedians like Red. I know there are some very good ones out there today, but the ones from bygone times had a special something. I don't know how to describe it.
ReplyDeleteRed came to my hometown of Gadsden, AL with a small group of actors to show support for the troops at Camp Sibert. While there, he walked into a burger joint called Runts and saw my grandfather, "Red", and asked to sit next to him. He said, "Us redheads have to stick together." Then he wrote on the wall " I dood it, Red Skelton." It was covered with glass and painted around for many years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing this with us.
