There was a big unisex thang happening back then with mens and womens clothing. Lots of floral patterns , and pastels in mens sheer blouse like shirts. I had a couple that showed a beautiful stream side scene, and flowers in another . And girls had no problem wth that, at all. Personally, except for the fabric tied in the waist, I would have liked the shirt and pants that the black guy was wearing. I would have styled that.
There were some nice things in J.C.Penny at that time, but you had to look long and hard to find them. I always thought whomever the buyer was for them was crazy. That said, you are right John Campbell The mens shirts with design on them, like the dude in the middle were no problem for the ladies because we like things like that. It was nice to see the styling on men. It's just that out in the real world you hardly saw creatures decked out quite like this photo . : )
Margaret Siemers, I remember some of those horrors...I even painfully admit I was a victim of some of that "fashion"..there is evidence (6th grade class photo) of me sporting some fine green/yellow/orange striped double-knit bellbottoms:)
Dear John Kampsen, you should bite your tongue for saying such a curse out loud. (shiver) I may just need to take an aspirin now, the thought of this hurts my head. ; )
Um, sure it does Tom. : )
