I think I've heard her say, "The higher the hair, the closer to God." I know she's said that, if she'd been born a man, she'd be a drag queen. For all her artifice in her appearance, her voice and talent remain real and strong.
I like her artifice. Dolly Parton without her "artifice" as you refer to her style, wouldn't be the Dolly Parton her fans love. I love her style, and person. Very sweet.
See. If I were to grow my hair really long on one side of my head, and then comb it up, and over, my cranium, like this, that would be called a comb over. But when Dolly does it, she just makes it look good. But then again, however she wants to style her hair, or whatever she wants to style, she would still look good.
Ha! Now that's BIG hair.

ReplyDeleteI agree. I think she's great. I'm a big fan. She put out three amazing bluegrass albums about ten years ago that well worth getting.
