That ad, the real ad, is worth a lot of money to a collector. :-) I know 2 people that will pay out an unbelievable amount of money for anything to do with Trains,.. plus a friend of mine was cleaning out his woodworking shop, and had a metal sign describing a railway, and was just one minute from throwing it by the roadside, when a man in a truck saw it leaning up against his shop, and practically slammed on the brakes, and offered him 600 dollars for it,..freakin out my friend which took the money. Metal signs, magazines, old train sets or anything to do with trains, collectors will pay out a lot of money for. :-)
PS The phone co. STILL has not come here to look at my lines. Apparently they had it worse off than the electric co. did during that last ice storm. So, I am still in and out, but always thinking of you all here. : )
I have a box of reproduction ads like this one that I found on ebay. They are reprints but I need to get them out to look through them and see about selling some of them this Spring at some railroad events.
I have quite a few original train and other magazine ads. My favorites are the color ones from Life and the Saturday Evening Post.

ReplyDeleteSo true, so true. But do remember, condition also dictates what they will pay.
