I had read that, but its not certain because the scene in the photograph has been shot hundreds of times by hundreds of photographers over decades. In truth it has not been documented well. The only reason we have a date range is because of the content in the picture such as where the kiosks are located and such.
It seems the photographer is Hal Morey.
