I always loved my Mother's collection. When she passed I did not receive her pieces. But where there's a will, there's a way. So I began to collect pieces as I found them. This one I found at a flea market. I've got some other pieces I haven't photo'd yet..so that's the story behind this piece. It would normally hold perfume with a stopper in it.
You described it as Hob Nail Milk Glass. Is Hob Nail a particular glass manufacturer Barbara Ann or is that the name if the style? Is that a US manufacturer? Do they still make glass?
That's what I thought. I do a lot of business along that part of the Ohio River and actually visited their plant - http://www.fentonartglass.com - before they closed.
Barbara Ann that is beautiful. Is it something of yours? Did you buy it or inherit it? Where did you find it?

ReplyDeleteI ask because I live near East Liverpool and Stubenville Ohio. At one time it was the glass capital of the US.
ReplyDeleteThe premier in my mind is Fenton. Others might have differing opinions but to me that's the company name that's preferential.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter lives in Williamsburg, VA so I was just out there at the outlets.
